The pressure compensating cushion is a hydraulic cushion having a hydraulic medium, a lateral edge closure and upper and lower covers. The covers along with the closure define a pressure-tight inner space filled with hydraulic medium. - The upper press platen is connected to press cylinders (23) supported by a press frame (22).
