The mounting for preventing axial motion of arm rests for car seats comprises a locking ring (8) which is screwed to the seat. A bolt (6) attached to the arm rest fits into the ring which has lugs (11) around its circumference. These fit into a peripheral groove (18, 19) on the bolt to secure it. An independent claim is included for arm rests fitted with the mounting.
