Process for scattering particles particularly wooden chips, shavings or similar onto the scattering belt of a conveyor in production of particle mats uses calculation of belt and mat weights to set desirable volume flow
The particles (1) are scattered onto a continuous scattering belt (2) at an adjustable volume flow, after which the total weight of mat (4) and belt are determined at a measuring point. Then the weight of the mat, the so-called 'Actual Value', is calculated from the difference in total weight and belt weight. To set the given 'Desired value' of the mat weight, the volume flow of the particles is adjusted depending on the 'Actual value'. The belt weight of the continuous conveyor for the whole belt length is fixed as belt weight function, depending on belt position and then calibrated. The 'Actual Value' of the mat weight is calculated through differential calculation using the belt's present position.
