The device has absorption units (2) attached to a carrier. An adhesion strip (8) is attached to the absorption units and is provided in a detachable connection with the carrier. The absorption units are designed as wedge-shaped with its base in a trough of the carrier. The absorption unit has a core made from an absorbing material, which is surrounded by a destructible covering that is made from a lattice-like glass fiber fabric. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a device for absorption of sound.
