The lens has a movable breaker plate which is upstream connected to an objective (21) that detects an object (23) in an illumination beam path (BS) of a laser scanning microscope. The plate realizes an intermediate image (ZB1) of the object and represents an entrance pupil of the illumination beam path with variable enhancement and/or variable image length in another entrance pupil (AP). Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) a confocal grid-microscope with a zoom lens (B) an application of a zoom lens for testing and changing of a united cell structure and a whole organism.
