The automobile exhaust silencer (1) comprises an absorption pot (3) with a housing (2) incorporating a plastic top (6), and a distributer pipe which is located in the housing and is joined to the exhaust inlet and outlet pipes (4, 5) so that the housing is jointly carried by them. Independent claims are also included for: (A) an automobile exhaust system with the proposed silencer; (B) a motor vehicle with with the proposed silencer; (C) a method for producing the proposed silencer (D) an application of shaped components for production of the proposed silencer.
