The adapter (1) for screwing onto a flange (2) lies on the flange by one end face (3) and clamped to it by screws (4). The inside diameter of the adapter for fitting over a connecting construction is larger than the inside diameter of the flange. The connecting construction on its open end has a contact face (6) which similarly lies on the flange, and a seal (7) is installed in force contact between the connecting construction and flange in the contact region. The connecting construction has a radially projecting locating face (8) upon which the connecting construction is clamped between the adapter and flange with mechanical and positive locking.
