A self-baking product, to be baked by a consumer, comprising a ready-to-bake mass (3) in a closed container (1) having a lid (2), where the container (after removal of the lid) serves as a baking mold for the mass. An independent claim is included for making a ready-to-bake mass sufficiently stable for use in a self-baking product as above, involving: (1) transporting the ready-to-bake mass, in a storage container, into a first heat exchanger; (2) heating the mass in the heat exchanger; (3) maintaining the temperature of the heated mass for a first period of time; (4) transporting the heated mass into a second heat exchanger; and (5) cooling the mass.
