The power plant (10) for the generating of electrical and/or thermal energy from fossil or regenerative fuels has medium temperature heat consumers and high temperature heat consumers. One or more of the medium temperature heat consumers is supplied, via a flow of a heat transfer fluid with an initial useful temperature, with heat energy, the energy content of which derives from a geothermal reservoir (28) and which through a bore (26) which connects the power plant to the geothermal reservoir is fed to the power plant. An independent claim is included for a method for the increasing of the economic efficiency of a power plant to generate electrical and/or thermal energy from fossil or regenerative fuels.
