In a laminated reflector system having long-lasting high temperature resistance and high visible light reflectivity and including a metallic reflection layer, for application to transparent substrates (specifically of glass) on the side facing away from the reflection direction and thermal stress and exposed to the atmosphere, a metallic barrier layer (5) followed (in layer order) by a dielectric covering layer (6) are applied to the side of the reflective layer (4) facing away from the substrate : An independent claim is included for a method for forming the laminated reflector system on a glass substrate, involving: (a) depositing the reflective layer (4) on the substrate (1) by direct current sputtering; (b) depositing the barrier layer (5) on the reflective layer (4) by direct current sputtering; and (c) depositing the dielectric covering layer (6) by reactive medium frequency sputtering.
