Page numbering, of newspaper sheets, follows an unconventional pattern to give folded sections which are read in sequence with reduced handling during production and reading

For the printing of newspapers, the pages are numbered unconventionally and all sheets are folded into a single folded sheet. The pages are divided by a horizontal center line, into two halves as separate pages. After reading the front page, the pages are taken out without unfolding and inserted into the single folded sheet as the next page is on the next sheet. The reader continues with the outer page and continues the process.
