The sliding door has a magnetic drive system with linear drive unit with soft or hard magnetic elements (1) and a modular coil assembly of several individual coils which with a corresponding control of the individual coils induces an interaction with the at least one row of magnetic elements to produce advance forces. Each coil assembly can have several coil modules arranged at a constant distance from one another in the drive direction. A coil module can have an integrated contacting to automatically connect the individual coils to the control wires of a control unit.
