The sliding door has a linear drive unit with two magnet rows (1a,1b) in the drive direction with a coil assembly (7,8,9) consisting of several individual coils mounted between the two rows. An alternating action with the two magnet rows produces the advance forces and a support device with support rails (2a,2b) and guide elements (3a,3b) ensure the specific gap distances between the each one magnet row and the support rail which is in force attraction with same. The two magnet rows are magnetized transversely to the support direction and drive direction. The sliding door can be formed as a curved or horizontal sliding wall.
