UV sterilization apparatus for biological products operates by comminuting and (pre)drying to give a free-flowing product (8) which is transported towards a UV source and then regrouped, the transport path having several sliding surfaces (6) such that the product (8) negotiates a fall from one surface (6) to the next surface (6) and there also being a vibration device which operates on the surfaces (6) and/or free-fall zones (9) to aid conveying of the product (8).
