The gasket has expansion sensors (22, 24) directly sensing gas pressure variations and acting parallel to a plate of the gasket when subjected to a tensile stress. The sensors are frictionally coupled to a measuring point area of an engine component-sealing surface or arranged between metal sheet layers of the gasket. The sensors are frictionally coupled with another sheet-metal layer, which lies adjacent to one of the layers.
