The mechanism has an electrochemical measuring cell (1) that reacts an analyte with a working electrode (9) in an electrode reaction. The reaction amplifies an electrical current signal by a redox-cycling process of redox-mediators at redox-cycling electrodes (2, 3) to extract a concentration variable measuring signal. The concentration ratio of mediator components is adjusted at the electrodes (2, 3) by the electro-chemical reaction.
