Correcting Raman spectrum by eliminating baseline due to interfering fluorescence spectrum, adding convex function to portion of spectrum to be corrected

The method involves adding a convex function f to the portion of the spectrum to be corrected. The convex envelope of the spectrum is determined, and the part of the convex envelope below the spectrum is subtracted from the spectrum. The function f is preferably defined so that it is centered in relation to the portion to be corrected. Independent claims are included for: (1) an apparatus for correcting at least a portion of a Raman spectrum; (2) a spectrometer device; (3) a computer-readable data carrier storing a program for implementing the method.
