Test rig (1) has a housing in two parts (10,20) held together by bolts. A bearing bush support (40) fits between the two housing parts and holds a retention washer (42) and a bearing bush (2). The bush has a steel backing layer, a sintered bronze layer and a bearing surface layer. A cylindrical pin (30) fits in the bearing and has smaller diameter ends (31,32) fitting into recesses (11,21) in the two parts of the housing. Fluid flows from a pressure source (50) to an inlet (13) to a first chamber (12) under the bearing bush support. It flows through the narrow gap between the pin and the bearing to a second chamber (22) and an exit channel (23).
