Catalytic production of optionally substituted (hetero)aromatic nitrile compounds, comprises reacting aryl halides in the presence of copper compounds and cyanide donor yellow prussiate of potash directly in a substance or in a solvent at 20-220[deg]C optionally under pressure and in the presence of a catalyst-stabilizing additive. Catalytic production of optionally substituted (hetero)aromatic nitrile compounds of formula (Ar1-CN), comprises reacting aryl halides of formula (Ar1-X) in the presence of copper compounds and cyanide donor yellow prussiate of potash directly in a substance or in a solvent at 20-220[deg]C optionally under pressure and in the presence of a catalyst-stabilizing additive. X : Cl, Br, I, triflate, nonaflate, mesylate or tosylate; and Ar1 : optionally substituted (hetero)aromatic compounds.
