The present invention relates to peptide-mimetic compounds, their synthesis and use for inhibiting proteasomes and inducing apoptosis in tumor cells. Furthermore, the present invention relates to pharmaceutical compositions comprising the compounds, and the use of the compounds for the treatment of diseases, especially cancers and neurodegenerative diseases.
