The thread milling tool has a cutting element and fixing element (4) which is connected spring elastically through a connector to the support body (2) which rotates about the rotational axis (D). The cutting element is fixed detachably through form-locking or positive-locking engagement between the support body and fixing element and/or between at least two fixing elements. Each fixing element and each connector is mounted outside of the cutting element so that they neither pass through or are encircled by the cutting element. The support body has a socket section to hold the cutting element.
