The device has a spraying device with an outlet opening (9) for a liquid e.g. primer to be applied. A textile planar structure (10) is arranged between the outlet opening and a surface (11) of a work piece e.g. window pane, for simultaneously applying and distributing the liquid onto the surface. The planar structure is detachably fixed to the device, where the structure is formed from felt.
