The motor vehicle (1) has a clutch, which can be operated by the driver, and service brake system, which can be operated hydraulically or electrically. The motor vehicle can be held down in the stand still condition even without operating the brake pedal. The operation of the clutch is provided by the clutch sensor (15), acquired by the driver. An independent claim is also included for the method for holding down the motor vehicle in stand still condition.
