The system is for the release of an escape route through at least one emergency exit door (1) and/or window fitted with a protective shrouding (6a,6b). The door/window has at least one release unit (3) and a mechanism to move the shrouding to one side to give a clear passage. The door/window has a panic lock (4,5), released by the first person to reach it. The release is activated by a 24 V motor supplied by a 24 V emergency current center (10) linked to a fire alarm (11).
