The carrier tool has a shaft (2) having a receptacle (3) for the die plate (25). One end of the receptacle is open. The receptacle has symmetrical sections (S1,S2) . Two edges (11,13) of the receptacle in the symmetrical sections enclose a non-zero angle. The receptacle may be center-symmetric and/or axial-symmetric. An independent claim is included for a die plate.
