The drive has a core shaped actuator housing for accommodating a piezo-actuator. A sealing arrangement seals a front side opening of the actuator housing against penetration of a liquid medium. The sealing arrangement is gas permeably designed, and discharged into a cavity (32), which is covered by a cap (30). The cap is fastened at the control drive by melting a cap section or a fastening section that is adjacent to the cap. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a piezo-operated control drive that is utilized for operating a fuel injector.
