A baseplate (2) projects a pair of spaced apart clamps (3) mounted with an ejector (6). Each clamp has resilient tongues defining a receiving part (11) for securing a workpiece (1) at the inner or outer periphery. The ejector is slid over the clamps to eject the workpieces from the receiving parts. Each receiving part also forms a chamfer at the front edge for positioning or inwardly pushing the workpiece. An optical sensor using fiber optics detects presence of the clamped workpiece.
