The method involves implementing a focusing procedure to determine a position of a focal point corresponding to a contrast value. A calibration procedure is implemented for determining another position of the focal point, and the two positions are compared to determine a number of adjustments required for positioning the focal point at a number of positions. The corresponding image at each of the positions is recorded.
