Method for recovery, preparation and storage of stem cells (SC) from umbilical cord blood (UCB) comprises sampling UCB containing at least one stem cell population with a sampling kit; sampling both UCB and maternal blood; and freezing SC separated from UCB for later use, where the individual process steps and parameters are documented according to a preparation protocol. ACTIVITY : Antianemic; Cytostatic; Anti-HIV. No details of tests for these activities are given. MECHANISM OF ACTION : Cell replacement.
