A light emitting diode is utilized as a light source, which switches on an optical light control system with curved end surfaces, where light of the diode is collected, guided and erected on the operating field. The diode and the light control system are arranged in a light pipe (26) at the housing. The light control system has an oval front lens whose larger diameter is doubled as that of its circular back lens.
