The switch has a sensor device with an elongated measuring device. A control lever is designed such that the lever is selectively deformed by applying actuating force. The elongated measuring unit is attached at the lever so that the deformation of the lever is measured by using a control device utilized in the measuring unit during application of the force. The control device is provided for actuating the switch. The control lever is rigidly fixed at a steering column of the motor vehicle.
