The key box and cabinet has a back, an injection molded corpus part (2) made from plastic and a front door (1), at which on one side a bent surface is arranged (10). The corpus part at a side is an open U-shaped part, which has a front strengthening piece (17) and a rear strengthening (18) at a side panel (19) of the housing (2). The boundary region in the closed condition is removed by the bent surface (10) of the front door of the cabinet. A lateral hole is provided between the injected molded parts for a latch plate lock (14). In the closed position of the cabinet, the bent surface (10) of the front door covers the hole, so that the latch plate (13) is not accessible or visible. The corpus part is one piece. The front door has a curved front plate, such as a curvature being the component of a sector of a circle.
