The system has a vehicle steering (1) designed as a servo steering, with a steering aid and a mechanism for detecting critical trailer oscillations. A temporary contact takes place in the steering for carriage stabilization, on detection of the oscillation. The reinforcement of the steering in the direction which is opposite to steering movement at a steering wheel (6), is lessened during the temporary contact.
