The method involves sending control signals (KS) by a control device (2) that is carried by a user to a radio identification unit (10) that is connected with an object e.g. eyeglass. The device is held to receive response signals (AS) of the identification unit and the received response signals are evaluated by the device. An alarm is triggered by the device, if predetermined response signals are missing or incorrectly received. An independent claim is also included for a system for protecting an object, which is carried by a person, against unintentional removing from the person.
