A method for evaluating the amount of wetting of objects which have a high speed of movement relative to a recording/camera unit, in which at least one multi-spectral image of the object is photographed, which has at least one channel in the visual zone and at least one channel in the UV zone during simultaneous photographing of all channels. Picture element-type comparison of the intensity of the photographed channels is carried out and the wetted substances are recognized. In the image, objects and/or components of the objects are recognized and a decision is made whether enough, too little and/or too much of the respective wetting is present on the measured objects and/or components. The object is illuminated simultaneously in the visible and/or UV zones by a lamp or the sun. An independent claim is included for a device for the evaluation of object wetting.
