Apparatus for making printing plate has laser diodes, which are individually controllable according to the image, give light rays directed onto radiation-sensitive layer of printing plate blank and can be positioned relative to the layer; laser ray output regulator; and photoelectric sensor(s) for laser diode optical output, connected with regulator. The novelty is that sensor (17) has a planar light incidence area (16), inclined to plane perpendicular to light incidence direction.
