The method involves positioning a vehicle mounted part of a measuring coordination system, using positioning mechanisms. An actual status/position of an initial reference point in the vehicle mounted part of the system is measured. A position deviation is determined from the comparison of actual and target positions of the reference point. The positioning mechanism is corrected based on the deviation. Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) a vehicle mounted part comprising a function structure (B) a join compound of a vehicle structure part and a vehicle mounted part (C) a measuring and manipulation device with a measuring and manipulation station for post processing of a vehicle mounted part.
