A system for balancing pressure differences by using a closed hollow body with at least three shell-type pressure difference walls (C1,C2,C3) arranged one over the other, with pressure difference spaces (O1,O2) between, and with one pressure difference valve per pressure difference space (O1,O2). These spaces (O1,O2) are divided into a number of chambers by partition walls (P1-P16;Q1-Q16), so that each chamber has at least one pressure difference valve (F1-F30; G1-G30) on the pressure difference wall facing the further outer lying pressure difference space, and these valves can be controlled so that during pressure build-up initially the valves (G1-G30) of the inner pressure space and the valves (F1-F30) of the inner to the outer pressure difference spaces are closed in succession and during pressure reduction are opened in steps from the outer to the inner valves.
