The fitting has a supporting tongue (26) formed in axial direction with large axial length within the range of a retaining ring (12), and formed adjacent the conical ends of the retaining ring. The conical, radially flexible and ductile retaining ring is included in a locking mechanism (10) which is used for locking the coupling member (2) and a plug-in part (4) with the fitting section (6). The coupling member has a detent step (18) that is inserted into the groove opening of the retaining ring and annular groove (16) of the plug-in part. The retaining ring locks the fitting section with the first conical end of the retaining ring against a first groove flange (22) of the annular groove, and with the second conical end against the detent step. The second conical end cooperates with the detent step. The supporting tongue bent and arranged for supporting the first groove flange opposite the second groove flange (28).
