The system has blowers (1, 2) with respective blower engines (1a, 2a), and actuators (3, 4) e.g. stepper motor, for an air flap. A blower controller independently controls the blower engines and the actuators for the air flap. The blower controller is independent of a vehicle-sided controller, where the blower controller receives a switching-on and/or switching-off signal from the vehicle-sided controller. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a blower system for cooling of motor vehicle engine.
