A cold-generating unit for a hot gas circuit comprises sequentially a compressor (10), condenser (14) for heat exchange to the surroundings, pressure reducer (16), evaporator (18) and a control (26) for a cooling device with cold medium recovery by passing the medium back through the condenser for a given time with fan operation (14a). An independent claim is also included for a control process for the above.
