Pneumatic real or false twist spinning for staple fiber yarn includes a sharp change in direction of sliver between drafting system and twist head

Fibers (12) pass through a drafting system (6) and are then subjected to a change in direction before entering a pneumatic false twist head (1) or a pneumatic vortex spinner (15) that imparts real twist. The angle of deflection (alpha ) is preferably 30 [deg] and the entry to the spinner is displaced (Z) from the from the center line. Trash is thrown off at the change of direction. An independent claim is also included for equipment that includes a deflection between the last roller pair (8) of the drafting system and the spinning head (1, 15). The last roller can be a suction roller and a suction duct can be included to remove any trash thrown off.
