A silicate group fluorescent material (51) is produced using fluorescent crystal having improved bulkiness and surface property, which improves the luminous efficiency of fluorescent material. The luminance of fluorescent material is improved when irradiated with ultraviolet light or blue light, by removing water in wet preparation process during manufacture. An independent claim is included for light emitting diode (LED) lamp (1B), which has LED element (2) radiating ultraviolet or blue illuminating radiation, and transparent sealing resin (6) for sealing LED element. The sealing resin contains fluorescent crystal prepared using organic non-aqueous solvent by wet grinding process.
