The clock or watch mechanism (1) has a driven wheel formation (2), a limiter (4) and a regulating component (5). The latter two components are built together to form an exchangeable structural unit (6), which can be dismantled from or installed in the clock or watch mechanism. The structural unit is screwed to a clockwork plate (9) and the limiter wheel is connected to a drive driven by a second wheel (3), via which there is a drive connection between the structural unit and the driven wheel formation.
