Quick adaptation of rocking curve of crystal monochromator involves applying an electric field, whose field strength can be changed, to the crystal (1) near its surface (1'), so that deviating crystal structure is produced or an already deviated crystal structure is spatially expanded. The portion of the area near the surface of deviating crystal structure at the reverse effect zone (4) is adjusted, so that desired transmission characteristic result. Consequently, the crystal monochromator reversibly adapts to the rocking curve. An independent claim is also included for a crystal monochromator.
