Printing machine has monitoring device (16) to monitor security relevant incidence or it is assigned to controller. Regulating device (12) has main drive (10) with gear train and motor driven device which have synchronous operation for security relevant incidence. By means of mounting device or controller, regulation device has at least motor driven device in which drive (11) is stoppable. Improper deflection in synchronous operation is detectable. An independent claim is also included for method for operation of printing machine.
