Coiling machine comprises a pressing roller motor (12) which can be switched from a coil spindle motor (10.1, 10.2) to a coil spindle frequency converter using a switch (14.1, 11.2) without removing the coil spindle frequency converter. The pressing roller motor is driven parallel to the coil spindle motor. An independent claim is also included for a method for coiling continuous threads using the above coiling machine.
