The differential (1) has a housing (3) inside which lubricating oil flows and a drive mechanism (13) with compensation gear (7) is swivel mounted in the housing. A pair of output gears (9,11) which intervene with the compensation gear is rotatable relative to housing. A slip delimitation mechanism (17) with a friction section is provided for producing force in order to limit relative torsion. The torsion is limited between the housing and the compensation gear whereby the lubricating oil is supplied to friction section. A means (23) is arranged for holding lubricating oil in the friction section.
