The method involves increasing the temperature of a carrier medium by switching radiation collectors and slackening vaporous fluid using kinetic energy. The slackened fluid flows to a heat exchanger (10) before flowing via a heat exchanger. The slackened fluid is cooled in the heat exchanger (10). The heat provided by the fluid is transferred to a storage circuit (19) which is in connection with a heat accumulator unit. An independent claim is also included for a mechanism for producing current and/or heat, comprising radiation collectors.
