The equipment has traps (12) that are positioned in an area (10) which is to be protected from animals, where each trap is provided with a sensor (14) and an emitter (16). The emitter wirelessly transmits signals to a center (18) when an animal caught in the trap is detected by the sensor. A plate closes or disconnects an electrical contact of the sensor, when the animal is caught. The signal contains information for identifying the concerned trap.
